It is 2021, and YouTube stills remain the second largest search engine after Google. But YouTube seems to be still dealing with and tolerating the bots/mobs for likes and dislikes. Many YouTubers are flourishing their businesses with fake YouTube views or using bots to dislike other YouTubers’ content to make sure that their recommendation rank is harmed and do not rank in the most liked and viewed videos. It has been almost seven years tolerating the bots on YouTube. Although YouTube has banned and took down many tools/software that were nothing but the bot armies. But there are still some of them, operating under the nose of YouTube. If they are caught and brought into the limelight, many such YouTube dislike bot will get suspended, and the person using it will get penalized.
Around 2013, YouTube had gathered large traffic through bots faking like real people, compared to the actual visitors. The operators working at YouTube were bothered that this might cause the failure of their fraud detection system. The YouTube inversion rate was at stake. Blake Livingston (a member of the YouTube fraud and abuse team) termed it- The dilemma itself transpired to be exceptional.

And the most indulging part is, you can even generate higher ROIs if you tame the methodology of using Bots. But if you fail to tame it, unfortunately, you will be risking your YouTube account.
Does YouTube Support Bots?
Yes, it does. But mind you, with a lot of restrictions. The fact that the usage of many YouTube dislike bot has been abused by people all these years. TubeAssist was a popular tool amongst people when it came to dislike videos in a mass number, which was later banned by YouTube. Looking at all the recent tracks regarding the usage of YouTube dislike bot, YouTube is all set to plan new ways to tackle the bot and the fake YouTube clickbait issue. Tom Leung, director of project management at YouTube, recently vocalized how the team is trying to solve the enigma of dislike mobs in their creator insider video on YouTube in 2019.
He suggested three ways to tackle these notorious bots-
Disable the like/unlike options for the users: The creators can select this option. But it can also be the most criticized solution because the creators will not be able to see the likes and dislikes on their videos, which matters a lot on YouTube for monetary benefits and attract more viewers.
Asking the users why they dislike a particular video: This will allow the users to pause before they blindly like/dislike a video and provide an insight for the creators regarding why their videos are liked and disliked.
Permanently remove the dislike button: This was the most controversial topic for the YouTubers and the users. It was not treated as a democratic decision because not all dislikes are from the bot army! The furious YouTubers responded to the Tom Leung video suggesting that the users should not be allowed to like/dislike a video until they have watched 25% of a video, which raised many eyebrows because the users can be impatient at times and they might skip the video even after watching 25% of the video or perhaps forget to like/dislike the video.
Polishing Off-
The YouTube dislike bot gathered a lot of attention with its exit and narrow downed permission that made way for other automation tools that were comparatively easy to use. Many YouTubers these days are monetizing their YouTube channel with the before-mentioned tools. Apart from that, YouTubers also responded to the much-hyped dislike bot by saying that- any sort of attention is good attention! It was again controversial as some of them claimed that the dislike bots are helping you build your content SEO.
